Overview: The Sankofa Briefing is your first opportunity to meet everyone on the 2018 team and learn the nuts and bolts of traveling internationally. After this weekend, you will learn how to prepare for Ghana, obtain traveling logistics and get your questions answered about Sankofa 360.

Where will we stay? Cambria Hotel & Suites: 6014 Gateway Dr., Plainfield, IN 46168 (Pease REPORT to this location if driving).

Will I have to pay for any of this? Part of your fundraising goal includes the briefing so you will not have to pay for food, housing or transportation once you arrive in Indianapolis. Travel from your city/state to Indianapolis is not included.

What will we eat? All meals will be provided by your Sankofa Team. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner (on the days applicable). If you have any dietary restrictions, please email us.

What will we do? You will gain a more comprehensive understanding of Sankofa 360, engage in crucial conversations, discuss trip details and participate in essential trainings to better equip you as a leader. Check out the BRIEFING AGENDA.

What time should I arrive on Friday, March 9? Please plan to arrive in Indianapolis no later than 5pm est.

What time can I depart on Sunday, March 11? Please plan to depart Indianapolis no earlier than 1pm est.

What should I bring? Plan to bring a bible, writing materials, valid passport, African attire f or church, a laptop and other items for an overnight hotel stay.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel? Once you arrive at the airport, please go to ground transportation ( ZONE 2) and call the hotel transportation at 317.279.2394. They will send a van for you at no additional cost (tips for the driver are optional).

How do I get from the bus station/another location? Please indicate this on your TRAVEL FORM so we can make transportation arrangements for you.

How do I check in? There will be a Sankofa staff member to assist you. You will check in under “Tim Swain” or “Sankofa 360.” Room assignments will be given upon arrival .

What time will the session start on Friday? Please report to Conference Room A no later than 6:30pm. Dinner will be provided.
